Decision to proceed farmers' protests it was adopted at a meeting in Dolovo, held on September 27, in which representatives of several farmers' associations participated - "Dolovački Paori", "Banata Union", "Novoseljanski Paori", "Srbobran Municipality Farmers' Association", "Banatska Crnica" and "Initiative for the Survival of Serbian Farmers".
"Due to the neglect of the ministry and other institutions of the clear demands of agricultural associations that were presented to the public, these agricultural associations made a decision to continue the protest in the form of several days of going out on the streets and roads throughout Serbia," the farmers state.
They add that it was agreed that these are long-standing problems that were presented as former ones governments and ministries as well as the current ones.
"We state that the student demand 'To make the institutions work' is justified and correct and there is no place for negotiations," concluded the farmers.
Due to repression, protests will not be reported
The farmers say the protests will not be officially reported "due to the repression of and arrests of farmers".
Several questions were addressed to the competent institutions, among other things, how the market of primary agricultural products will be "taken from the hands of the cartels" by the state, as well as when it will start to control the quality of goods that cross the border into Serbia.
Their demands remained the same – immediate payment of all outstanding debts from previous years, excise-free fuel directly at the pumps, as well as immediate removal of phantom farms from the system.
Farmers are also demanding the refinancing of existing agricultural loans with an interest rate of one percent, compensation of 300 euros per hectare for spring crops, and the breaking of cartel behavior on the market of primary products.
A "warning" protest was held in front of the Provincial Government building on September 15, after which three farmers were detained.
