A small plane fell in the area of Batajnica around noon, and the accident was reported to the police at around 12:10, the public relations office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia confirmed to FoNet, but for now it is not known if there are any dead or injured.
RTS reports that one person was killed.
As the portal reports Tango six, the aircraft is an ultra-light Esqual VM-1C registration YU-A299 that crashed after taking off from the airport "13. May" near Zemun Polje.
The accident happened not far from the airport's runway after the take-off phase. Only the pilot was in the two-seater.
Immediately after the accident, i.e. the loss of contact with the aircraft, the Rescue and Coordination Center of the Directorate of Civil Aviation alerted the Helicopter Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, which sent a helicopter on duty to search. The aircraft was located in less than 10 minutes.
"The plane fell in a very inaccessible area, it was reported that smoke could be seen, and the police, ambulance and firemen were dispatched to the area, and we will have more information only when the fire is extinguished," FoNet in the Bureau said.
Airport "13 Maj" is located in Zemun polje, 10 kilometers west of the center of Belgrade. There is a training center for ultralight aircraft pilots at the Airport.
