Today, several meetings were announced with the topic of solving the Belgrade-Pristina relationship. All of them are based on the negotiations between President Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Aljbin Kurti on August 18 in Brussels, which ended without results.
According to Radio Free Europe's information from reliable diplomatic sources in Brussels, the European Union's special representative for dialogue Miroslav Lajčak and the American special envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, will most likely come to Pristina and Belgrade this week.
The aim of their visit is to talk with both sides once again in order to find a solution regarding the issuance of entry-exit documents for Serbian citizens coming to Kosovo and Metohija.
The meeting of the main negotiators planned for this week as a continuation of the engagement in Brussels will most likely await the outcome of the talks that Lajcak and Escobar will hold with them.
Then, it was announced that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will invite President Vučić and Prime Minister Kurti to a meeting in Berlin this fall, as part of the Berlin Process.
This Wednesday at noon, a joint meeting of representatives of the assemblies from the north of Kosovo, Mitrovica, Zvečani, Zubin Potok and Leposavić will be held, in order to discuss the security situation.
On that occasion, the president of the Serbian List, Goran Rakić, said that they told President Vučić that what was happening was unacceptable, intolerable, and that they shared the fate of their people and that they will be in front of him now, with the aim of preserving peace, as and that he will bear the burden of fighting for the life of a worthy man.
Today, in a guest appearance on TV Prva, the President of the National Assembly, Vladimir Orlić, announced that a special session dedicated to the situation in Kosovo and Metohija will be held in September, which will be attended by Aleksandar Vučić.
Orlić also said that "the situation in Kosovo and Metohija is currently a priority", as well as that "until September 1, we expect that (Aljbin) Kurti will try to create additional problems for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija, because he was brought only to create a problem ."
Today, the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, and the American Ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, met on the occasion of the North of Kosovo. Petković expressed his "fear that the insistence of Prishtina to implement the decisions on re-registration of vehicles and identity cards in ten days will lead to further escalation of tensions and increased provocations and pressure on Serbs".
He emphasized that the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities, which was agreed upon by the Brussels Agreement, and which the Pristina side has refused to fulfill for more than nine years, would be a necessary step in the right direction and the key to solving many problems in the province.
