Ministry of Interior (MUP) announced that MS (41), who was arrested on Thursday (May 14) hit a 90-year-old man with a car in front of the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, as well as that he was detained for up to 48 hours on suspicion of having committed the crime of aggravated attempted murder.
In the statement, the MUP stated that around 12:00, at the intersection of Bulevar Kralja Aleksandar and Professor Mihailo Đurić, in front of the Faculty of Law, during an unannounced public gathering, an Opel Astra car driven by M.S., after a verbal discussion with the participants of the gathering, broke through the blockade by driving in reverse and hit a man (1936) at the pedestrian crossing, causing him, for now, an undetermined degree of injury.
The suspect was soon arrested, and according to the order of the prosecutor of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, he was ordered to be detained for up to 48 hours due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of aggravated attempted murder.
The injured man was transported to the Emergency Center, the MUP announced.
