What happened at DUNP?
About twenty people with hoods and masks on their faces, shouting "Fire, everyone out immediately", burst into the State University building early on Tuesday (July 29) New Pazar (DUNP), and then forcibly took out the students who refused to leave.
"When we were all already outside, around four o'clock this morning, police brought the rector Zana Dolicanin and some of the professors into the building," said one of the students at the DUNP blockade to Sto plus radio.

The head of the Police Department in Novi Pazar, Nermin Ljajić, said that during the conflict with the citizens gathered in front of the State University (DUNP), six police officers were injured, Sto plus radio reported.

Also, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will not tolerate any kind of violation of public order and peace, as well as attacks on the police, and will apply legal powers, the statement says.
In cooperation with the competent prosecutor's offices, the police will, in accordance with the law, work to determine all the circumstances and prosecute those responsible, it added.

The academic community condemned the intrusion into the DUNP premises
The academic plenum and members of the academic network Slobodan University condemned the intrusion into the premises of the State University in Novi Pazar and demanded that the rector resign immediately.
"We demand the dismissal of the police chief in Novi Pazar, and we ask the mayor, Nihat Biševac, whether the citizens of Novi Pazar are being protected in this way. We support the request of the DUNP students - that the rector of that university resign immediately, that they leave his building and that all persons who attacked the students be prosecuted," the Academic Plenum points out.
Support from students of other universities

Belgrade citizens' assemblies have announced gatherings for tonight in support of Novi Pazar and the students there.
