Jun Fosse, a Norwegian writer who was unknown to the so-called reading public in the world even though he was translated into fifty languages until he received the Nobel Prize on Thursday, is currently the most sought-after item on the websites of the "Delphi" and "Vulkan" bookstore chains.
In "Vulkan" they no longer have any of his books, and in "Delphi" bookstores it is still possible to find some.
Translated into Serbian, most of Jun Fosse's books were published by "Treći trg", and they are still available on their website: the dramas "I am the wind" and "Dream", the novel "Morning and Evening", poetry collections "Dog and Angel". , "From where".
The novel "Melancholia" published by "Bloom" can be purchased on their website, as well as "Selected Dramas" on the website of the publisher IPC Media.
Jun Fosse was the first to present "Archipelag" to local readers, back in 2009, with the publication of the novel "To je Ales" translated by Mirna Stevanović.
"That title has been gone for a long time, and its reissue is unlikely," Gojko Božović, editor-in-chief of "Archipelago", tells "Vremena" portal, adding that in the last two or three years, "Treći trg" started publishing Fosse, "so they will probably continue in that direction".
The novel "It's Ales", says Gojković, is a story of about a hundred pages, it takes place on the fjord, and it is the story of a woman, about her husband, who did not return after taking a boat out on the lake one stormy day. The story unfolds in two directions. Either he got hurt because of the storm, or he used the storm to get out of a marriage that was not harmonious.
"Jun Fosse is an excellent writer, his novels have won awards and his plays have been performed all over the world - in our country Stevan Bodroža directed the drama 'Mother and Child' and then at Tvrđava Theater and 'I am the Wind', and yet, because of the language in which he writes , Jun Fosse is not a famous writer. Perhaps this is a good example for those who like to read not to choose only English-speaking authors."
