After objections from opposition parties and evidence of irregularities during the elections, the CEC of Bosnia and Herzegovina ordered a recount of the votes of the presidential elections in the Republic of Srpska. Milorad Dodik explained in Belgrade today that he is the winner, that he is on good terms with President Aleksandar Vučić and that together they are preparing a lawsuit against High Representative Christian Schmidt

Due to numerous irregularities found at the polling stations in Republika Srpska, the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH decided to recount the votes in the elections for the president of the RS.

"This morning, the CEC held a collegium where it considered remarks and objections to the course of the election process in the RS for the president and vice-president of the RS. We had material evidence and video materials where undoubtedly that process was contaminated that it was not possible to give the results of the election. The CEC has decided to issue an order: the CEC ex officio orders the main counting center to open the bags and count the ballots again and the ballots in Brčko District for the President of the RS", said CEC President Suad Arnautović.

According to the current results, Milorad Dodik won 291 thousand votes, while Jelena Trivić won 261 thousand votes.

The day after the election, the opposition parties in Republika Srpska, PDP and SDA, submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC) a request for a recount of the ballots for the president, in all election places in the RS.

Today, Milorad Dodik organized a media conference in Belgrade (!), in order to justify his election victory.

The advantage I have over Jelena Trivić in the race for the president of the RS is unattainable, he stated.

According to him, SNSD won at all levels of government, this, he said, is one of their better results, which reflects the strength of the people and the state.

He said that the CEC was not elected legally, that the parties involved in the election of that body, who also elected the representatives of the political parties of the opposition in the election commissions.

"A close associate of Mirko Šarović (SDS) was a member of the election commission, as well as a man from the PDP headquarters, and the law finds that these are independent candidates and not politically engaged individuals."

He repeated his earlier position that Christian Schmidt is not a high representative, that he is imposed and that he is lying.

"He says he knows that Dodik thinks the same as Putin, and then he comes, a speculator and a liar, who says something else." And he never even met with them, at least not in the last three years. I am satisfied that I have been with Putin three times in the past period," said Dodik.

He also said that he has good relations with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and that they hear each other on a daily basis. He said that they are "preparing and studying the possibility of suing Šmit for false representation and violation of the constitutional order in Bosnia and Herzegovina".

"We are now talking with German citizens to sue him in a German court because he is falsely representing himself. We hired a significant team of lawyers", he pointed out.

For the newly elected Bosniak member of the Presidency, Denis Bećirović, Dodik says that he will be worse than Bakir Izetbegović. "We expect a worse narrative." Serbs have committed aggression against BiH and Muslims since the first Serbian uprising, that is Bećirović's doctoral thesis, a false doctor, a false policy. He will be even more orthodox than Bakir Izetbegovic, he will contribute to the disintegration of BiH and I am looking forward to that."
