More than a month since Aleksandar Vulin resigned, a new head of the Security and Information Agency was appointed.
Tomislav Radovanović, former head of the Service for Special Investigation Methods of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was appointed acting director of the Security and Information Agency.
Thus, BIA became another in a series of state agencies and institutions headed by an acting director.
As reported by the Belgrade media, Radovanović worked for many years in the MUP of Serbia. He spent some time in France as a police attaché, and then was appointed head of the Service for Special Investigation Methods in the criminal police department.
Radovanović then came to the position of head of technology at the BIA agency.
As stated Today, Tomislav Radovanović is known to the public because he was a guest on TV Prva in the second half of 2021, where he talked about the fact that there was a parallel structure in the MUP that eavesdropped on the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
He then praised Vučić and Vulin and disclosed that parallel structures were created at the time when Nebojša Stefanović was the Minister of Police, as well as that "the case of Jovanjic (the largest marijuana plantation in Europe) cannot be separated from the affair of the wiretapping of President Vučić".
How is it "time" as already written, the organization "Transparency Serbia" recently asked the question of who leads the Security and Information Agency today, since Aleksandar Vulin resigned from the position of director because there was no official decision on his dismissal, appointment of a new director or an acting director.
Aleksandar Vulin resigned from the post of director of the Security Information Agency at the beginning of November.
In a statement to the media, he stated that the USA and the EU are seeking his head as a precondition for not imposing sanctions on Serbia.
"I am not the cause of blackmail and pressure on Serbia and the Serbian world, but I will not allow myself to be the reason for blackmail and pressure on Serbia and the Serbian world." That is why I am submitting my irrevocable resignation from the post of BIA director," the statement said.
