Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović said that the auction procedure for awarding market premiums for renewable energy sources has been digitized, which ensures a "quick, efficient and transparent" implementation of the process, which, she claims, will result in 450 new green megawatts for the economy and citizens in the Serbian power system.
"As Prime Minister Ana Brnabić announced after the meeting with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London, we launched auctions for the allocation of market premiums for renewable energy sources," said Đedović, adding that these are "the largest auctions to be held in the region at once." of the Western Balkans".
The transition to market premiums, the minister said, encourages the inflow of direct foreign investments, GDP growth, development of the construction industry, potentially reduces electricity costs and ensures a more secure supply of our economy and citizens.
Đedović also said that the active participation of the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) in that process is expected for the sake of a more secure supply of citizens and the economy.
"It is estimated that with the successful implementation of the auctions, EPS will generate more than three million euros annually, taking into account the relevant market prices," said the minister.
The maximum price that a producer of renewable energy sources can offer at an auction is defined by the Government and it is 105 euros per megawatt-hour for wind power plants, or 90 euros per megawatt-hour for solar power plants. Investors who offer the lowest price in relation to the maximum defined price will have the advantage of receiving incentives.
