"Miroslav Aleksic informed us that they decided to go alone, that they think that they will get more votes that way, and that's it," said Draga Đilas for N1, after it was speculated that the People's Movement of Serbia would go to the elections in a coalition with the Platform for European Serbia.
The leader of the SSP also explained that at the meeting it was said that the elections would be held in two blocs.
"Platform for a European Serbia (SSP, Serbia Center - Srce, PSG, Solidarsnot) and People's Serbia (NPS, NLS, Ecological Uprising)", said Đilas.
Disagreement over tactics
Previously, the main stumbling block was that Đilas advocated a clearly profiled pro-European column, while Aleksić said that the upcoming elections are not programmatic and that a larger list of party opposition is needed.
Thus, two blocs were separated, one in which are the Freedom and Justice Party, Serbia Center, Free Citizens Movement and Solidarity Movement; and another in which the National Movement of Serbia, the Ecological Uprising, the New Face of Serbia and potentially the movement of Dr. Dragan Milić.
Research has seen the chances of two somewhat similar lists passing the census differently. The best according to them were the surveys of the New Serbian Political Thought from the end of July, when the list around Aleksić was given 5,6 percent, and the list around Đilas 4,2.
