President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić he stated that work is being done on the development of the so-called "digital army", the goal of which would be to reduce the time needed for decision-making in combat situations to a minimum, and to further reduce the soldiers' exposure to danger.
After tactical exercise of the Serbian Army with "Pobednik 2026" live shooting, Vučić explained that in the future, combat vehicles should be able to detect a target and immediately digitally transmit the information to the rocket artillery, which could then act at the push of a button.
According to him, shortening the decision-making time is one of the advantages of the most modern armies, which is why it is necessary to reduce that process to the smallest possible extent.
At the same time, Vučić complained that the service was planned military service from 75 days – "nothing".
"It's not much, 75 days - nothing, but it will mean a lot in terms of gaining responsibility, seriousness and commitment. I would even say that it will help our young men to grow up, and I think it is also important for the development of our cities, especially in the border areas - Priboj, Pirot, Sombor. When you have that kind of barracks, it's like having a factory in that city," said Vučić, as reported by Beta.
Speaking about the exercise itself, the President of Serbia expressed his satisfaction with its performance and praised the members of the Serbian Armed Forces. He assessed that the exercise was very complex, especially considering the unfavorable weather conditions and strong wind, but that it was performed very well.
Vučić stated that a lot of money was invested in the realization of the exercise, as well as that the public could for the first time see a simulation of an attack by robotic unmanned and unmanned aerial vehicles on an entire settlement, without the presence of people in it.
Among the displayed equipment, he stated, were small "Milos", robotic dogs armed with "RBG" grenade launchers, "zols" and 7,62-millimeter machine guns, as well as eight different types of drones. During the exercise, part of the drones had to be shot down so that the soldiers could practice such situations.
Vučić said that such activities are carried out with the aim of preserving peace and stability. He pointed out that, according to him, Serbia has no intention of endangering anyone, but wants to be capable of independently protecting its sky and territory.
