On Sunday (June 15), the Academic Plenum requested the immediate resignation of the President of the Assembly of Serbia Ana Brnabić because of the "scandalous attack" on student.
"It is unworthy of her office to declare that they are applying Nazi ideology for the best that this country has - youth and intelligence, the future of this country. Students in the blockade did not break jaws, nor did they run over people with cars during the blockades," said the Academic Plenum in a statement on the occasion of the interview with Ana Brnabić Kurir.
The academic plenum points out that students "have no tabloids, nor media with a national frequency that spread hatred, nor control over the prosecutor's office and the police."
The only thing the students have is the pursuit of justice, a firm will, persistence and desire to stay in this country, the Academic Plenum stated and emphasized that it therefore supports the students' demands.
The academic plenum consists of teachers, associates and researchers from all faculties, colleges and scientific research organizations in Vojvodina.
What did Ana Brnabić say?
In an interview published today, Ana Brnabić pointed out that "the situation at the faculties is such that those professors and deans who supported the blockades the most are today exposed to lynching just because they dared to say that perhaps another modality of struggle could be considered."
"Today, the blockaders are physically throwing those same professors and deans out of the faculty, taking away their speech at plenums, today they are being targeted. Well, we had the Faculty of Political Sciences where the dean was one of the most zealous supporters of the blockades, and now she became a victim of the blockaders because she wanted to save the faculty. Now you have her photos plastered all over the FPN... This is Nazi ideology, which tomorrow will turn against anyone who says anything they don't like," said the president of the parliament.
