Law office Vasiljević legal, which represents the former head of the Police Department for the city of Belgrade Veselin Milić, announced today that she has submitted a criminal complaint to the High Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade against the head of the Criminal Police Directorate Mark Kricka and the head of the Crime Suppression Service, Boško Sekulović.
As the law office claims, the charges were filed because Kricak and Sekulović did not submit the evidence they had to the competent public prosecutor's office, from which, as stated, it emerged that the facts stated in the criminal complaint against Milić were not true.
The Office states that, as it claims, this was demonstrated by the rejection of all the allegations of the criminal report and its supplement.
"The 'dramatic turn' in this case did not occur because Veselin Milić was in any way privileged, but he was damaged by the illegal and malicious actions of the reported persons," the press release states, regarding media allegations about a reversal in the proceedings against Milić.
The lawyers claim that the actions of Kričko and Sekulović led to the initiation of criminal proceedings and the detention of Milić, which, as they claim, unjustifiably limited his rights to personal freedom, honor, reputation and dignity.
"By acting illegally for personal reasons, the reported persons discredited Veselin Milić in public and led to his removal from the position of head of the Police Department for the city of Belgrade," concludes the press release of the Vasiljević legal office.
At the beginning of July, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade submitted an indictment to the High Court in Belgrade against Milić on suspicion of having committed the criminal acts of failure to report the criminal act and the perpetrator and falsification of an official document.
According to the prosecution, there is a suspicion that Milić, as assistant director of police and head of the Police Department for the city of Belgrade, failed to report the crime of aggravated murder on May 12, 2026, which he learned about in the course of his duties.
The prosecution alleges that the owner of the "27" NL restaurant called Milić on May 12 after 23 p.m. via the WhatsApp application and informed him that A. N had been killed in the restaurant, but that Milić did not report it to the authorities.
According to the indictment, there is also a suspicion that on May 13, in the official premises of the Office of the Head of the PU for the city of Belgrade, Milić entered false information in an official note, as well as that he did not enter certain important information.
