"There is a coup d'état from within - the president is undisguisedly taking over the executive, legislative and judicial powers," warns the former president of the Supreme Court, Vida Petrović Škero. In an interview for "Vreme", he talks about selective justice, the pressures of the regime's media and the torture of citizens, but also about the responsibility that those who remained silent will have to bear.

"After the October 5th changes, we made numerous mistakes. This must not be repeated. Proceedings must be initiated, responsibility must be determined and all those who, through action or inaction, led to the current situation must be held accountable for their inaction. All those who passively observed, and did not dare, the attempt of one man to usurp the entire power by unconstitutional means will have to be held accountable."
"The school year is starting, and I, as a citizen, have no real idea of what has been done, or how it will start in the first place? Or, how come it was suddenly interrupted, ie. two weeks shortened? And why did the person who posted the news announce it, saying only 'that's the way it is'? We don't even know what will happen to the Vladislav Ribnikar Elementary School building. Some media reported that children who asked to transfer to another school were not allowed to do so. Is it fake news? If so, who will be held responsible for it? Where are the denials? All the letters sent by the victims, and there were a lot of them in the previous months, are proof that the system does not work."
