I remember the victims and forget the evil

"The demolition of the Cathedral in Mostar is, as Bishop Grigorije said in an interview, an evil fantasy. That church was mined and set on fire for a month, it was an attempt to obliterate it... On the other hand, it is important to understand, to have this awareness, that before that someone had mined the Franciscan monastery on our behalf. Someone shelled Karađoz Bey's mosque on our behalf. Do we all know that? Do we even think about it”

On the spot: Mostar

Still a divided city

On the Boulevard, which was the front line, stands a freshly painted ocher building in pseudo-Moorish style from the era of Austro-Hungarian rule. It houses the Mostar High School, founded in 1893. On the ground floor, students follow classes according to the Croatian curriculum, while the first floor is reserved for those who study according to the Bosnian curriculum. They don't have a single lesson together, but it is the only school in the city where, thanks to the OSCE initiative, education is at least "under the same roof", the school board is unified, and the children meet here and there, in the corridors and in the library (as in other about fifty such schools in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Trial for crimes in Dobrovoljačka: Street of divisions and accusations

On September 21, the main trial will begin before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case against Ejup Ganić and nine other former military and police officials of BiH on suspicion of having committed crimes in Dobrovoljačka Street on May 3, 1992 in Sarajevo. Even after thirty years, Dobrovoljačka is one of the "main streets of division" between Serbs and Bosniaks, and the court should finally determine whose interpretation is correct.

What remains

"I got a whole bunch of books on how to start new newspapers, read them all, and I explain to people that we should start making a number from minus 15, and then slowly reach, as Umberto Eco would say, the number zero. We're off to a great start we construct and create, the truth is less artistic, more substantive and, when we were down to the third number, Milošević called the elections first number"
