Women journalists against violence: Solidarity that changes the media landscape

In August 2025 alone, 25 physical attacks on media workers were recorded, of which in 14 cases they were attacked by police officers, the very ones whose duty it is to ensure our safety in the workplace. When online harassment, verbal threats and sexual harassment in newsrooms are added to that, it is clear that female journalists work in an environment of fear and insecurity

Gender-based femicide

In Serbia, there are no official statistics of femicide despite the numerous efforts and initiatives of women's non-governmental organizations, and data on the number of women killed is still collected from the media. Available research shows that in Serbia, on average, every two weeks, a woman is killed by an intimate partner or a family member, most often in her home.

An industry that destroys women

Revenge pornography is one of the most terrifying phenomena and a brutal form of violence against women that should be taken as seriously as any other. But the aggravating circumstance is that most people still see pornography primarily as entertainment, while on the other hand, someone is literally falling apart and doesn't even want to live anymore.
