On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the brigade that fought in Bucha, not far from Kiev, with the honorary title of "Guards". After the withdrawal of Russian troops in the West, Bucha became a symbol for war crimes allegedly committed by Russian troops in Ukraine.
