A few hours after he is the president of the United States of America Donald tramp stated that a twelve-hour ceasefire had been agreed between Israel and Iran, which began around six o'clock in the morning on Tuesday (June 24), the two warring states have begun a round of new accusations and possible attacks.
Although both Iran and Israel have confirmed the ceasefire, world agencies report that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the detection of new missiles launched from Iran towards Israel.
Trump then expressed strong anger and criticized both sides, but reserved his harshest condemnation for Israel, which he said had "unloaded" forces on Iran "as soon as we got a deal."
"We have two countries that are fighting so hard and for so long that they don't know what they're doing," a furious Trump said of Israel and Iran, which he accused of violating the ceasefire he announced the night before.
The president confirmed that he does not believe that the truce has been violated. But he said he was particularly unhappy with Israel, which he said was quick to violate the truce.
He wrote on the social network Truth Social: "Israel. Do not drop bombs. If you do, it is a serious offense. Bring the pilots home, now!"
Truce violation
Hours after Trump declared a truce on Monday morning, reports of attacks followed.
World agencies report that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the detection of new missiles launched from Iran towards the territory of Israel.
"Defense systems are currently working to intercept the threat," the IDF said in a statement.
A subsequent report added that air raid sirens sounded in northern Israel after the rockets were detected.
Iran's state-linked media denied that Iran had fired missiles at Israel after a ceasefire between the two countries took effect on Tuesday morning.
"The news that Iran fired rockets into the occupied territories after imposing a ceasefire on the Zionist regime is denied," the semi-official ISNA news agency said on its Telegram channel on Tuesday without citing a source. The state news agency Nur News also published a denial.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz earlier said Israel would "respond with force" after Iran's "total violation" of the ceasefire declared by US President Donald Trump, adding that it would "continue an intensive attack operation" against Tehran.
Eyal Zamir, chief of staff of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), said that "given the serious violation of the ceasefire by the Iranian regime, we will respond with force."
The Israeli military intercepted two rockets fired from Iran at Israel, an IDF official told CNN.
Another nuclear scientist killed
Iranian state media has identified another senior nuclear scientist it says was killed in Israeli strikes.
Mohammad Reza Sedighi Saber, who worked on Iran's nuclear weapons program, was "killed" in the latest Israeli strikes north of the capital Tehran, Press TV announced on Tuesday.
Israel claims that several prominent Iranian nuclear scientists have been killed in the past 12 days.
According to a Council on Foreign Relations report released on Monday, at least 10 Iranian scientists have been killed in the attacks so far, including Fereydoun Abbasi, the former head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, and Amir Hossein Feqi, the organization's former deputy head.
Sedigi Saber was among several individuals sanctioned by the US State Department and the Treasury Department earlier this year for their ties to Iran's nuclear program, CNN reports.
According to the State Department, he headed a group working on projects related to explosives. The group's projects included research and testing applicable to the development of nuclear explosive devices, the State Department said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office confirmed on Tuesday that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had killed another Iranian nuclear scientist, without naming Sedigi Saber.
"In the past 24 hours, the IDF attacked key regime targets in the heart of Tehran, eliminating hundreds of Basij operatives - the regime's internal repression forces - and killing another senior nuclear scientist," Netanyahu's office said in a statement.
Trump's surprise announcement
Let's recall that Trump wrote on the Truth social social network that they Israel and Iran have fully agreed that there will be a complete truce lasting 12 hours, when the war will be considered over.
As he wrote, Iran will begin a truce for 12 hours, and after 24 hours, "the world will welcome the official end of the XNUMX-day war," he wrote.
"Congratulations everyone! Israel and Iran have fully agreed that there will be a complete and total ceasefire for 12 hours, when the war will be considered over! After the 24th hour, the world will welcome the official end of the XNUMX-day war. Assuming everything works out as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, for their endurance, courage and intelligence to end what should be called the 'Twelve Day War'. This is a war that could have lasted for years and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn't, and it never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the world," Trump wrote.
Netanyahu agrees to ceasefire
Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet announced that Israel agreed to US President Donald Trump's proposal for a ceasefire with Iran after, they say, it achieved its goal of eliminating nuclear and ballistic missile threats.
The statement added that Israel will respond vigorously to any violation of the ceasefire.
Israel thanked Trump for, as noted, defense support and participation in eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat.
Iranian television announced that Tehran has begun implementing a ceasefire
Iranian television reports that the ceasefire came into effect shortly after multiple rocket salvos were fired at Israel.
Iran's Press TV said the ceasefire came into effect following the end of multiple rocket barrages on Israel.
