The non-trial panel of the High Court in Novi Sad today canceled the custody of one of the suspects in the criminal proceedings being conducted on the occasion of falling canopy na Railway station in Novi Sad Zorica Slavković Marjanović was ordered to prohibit her from leaving the apartment with electronic surveillance.
In the announcement of the High Court, it is stated that the council unanimously passed a decision by which it adopted the proposal for the abolition of detention and Slavković Marjanović was forbidden to leave the apartment.
This measure can last as long as there is a need for it, at the latest until the verdict becomes final, that is, until the sentence is served, which consists of deprivation of liberty, with the fact that, according to this decision, it can last for a maximum of three months.
According to the opinion of the panel, ensuring the presence of the accused and the smooth conduct of the criminal proceedings can be achieved with a milder measure.
"All the listed circumstances are, according to the opinion of the panel, at this moment of such quality and intensity that the purpose of the detention can be achieved with a milder measure, that is, a measure of the prohibition to leave the apartment, with the application of electronic surveillance," the statement added.
An appeal against the decision is allowed to the Appellate Court in Novi Sad within three days from the date of receipt of the decision, provided that the appeal does not delay the execution of the decision.
Slavković Marjanović was one of the two arrested persons responsible for the Chinese consortium for carrying out works at the station in Novi Sad.
