One of the most comprehensive presentations of the contemporary Belgrade scene of visual arts in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past four decades is an exhibition that will present the works of 61 artists from Belgrade.
The name of the exhibition is "Creative dialogue: Belgrade's art scene in Sarajevo", and it will run from August 4 to 25 at the Collegium artisticum gallery in Sarajevo.
The original creator of the project is the multimedia artist Aleksandra Kokotović, born in Sarajevo and lives in Belgrade, the curator is Jelena Jocić with her collaborator Sana Nuhanović.
Stating that culture never arises in isolation, but develops through encounters, exchange of experiences and the ability for different views to exist simultaneously, not canceling each other out, but expanding the space of common understanding, the authors of the exhibition point out that in this process art becomes the most precise form of dialogue, because it constantly opens up new questions.
"Each work of art represents an autonomous thought, but only in the encounter with other thoughts does it become part of a wider cultural fabric that transcends the individual", stated in the announcement of the exhibition, noting that it is not just an exchange of two representative installations, but rather a meeting of two contemporary art scenes that developed in different circumstances, but share the same understanding of art as a space of freedom, critical thinking and continuous questioning of reality.
