The company Yettel launched a 5G network today, which brings much faster internet to users throughout Serbia, even less delay in data transmission and the ability to connect a large number of devices.
"Already today, Yettel users can see the 5G icon on their phones, and that makes us very proud. Our company launched the first mobile signal in Serbia more than 30 years ago, in December 1994. Today, we launch the fifth generation of the Yettel mobile network, and our goal is for it to remain reliable, stable and with sufficient capacity for users and the business sector in Serbia. We continue to invest in innovation and infrastructure," said Mike Michel, CEO of Yettel.
In order to feel the benefits of the new technology, Yettel users need to have a device that
supports 5G and that they are in the network coverage area. The Yettel 5G network is available today in all major cities and tourist destinations in Serbia, and you can find a detailed coverage map here. As the network expands and develops, the 5G signal will cover an increasingly large part of the population and territory.
The new 5G network will enable:
– Ultra high data transfer rates
– Smaller delay in data transmission compared to previous generations
– Support for new digital services and IoT devices
– A better experience for gaming, video streaming and remote work
For 5G, Yettel is using the new frequencies it bought in the last spectrum auction. The company will broadcast 5G on two main frequencies: 700 MHz (Low Band) and 3.5 GHz (Medium Band – C-band).
Yettel is part of the e& PPF Telecom Group and provides unified telecommunications services at more than 130 points of sale, as well as through the Yettel application. In 2025, the Yettel network won the umlaut award "Best in test" for the best mobile network in Serbia for the ninth time in a row, and 5G is the next step in technological development.
