The tax inspectorate checks the papers of the Partizan and Crvena zvezda basketball clubs.
Crvena zvezda stated in a statement that since Tuesday, two controls have been present in the club's premises - the tax one, which is carried out by the Tax Administration, and the second one, which is carried out by the Budget Inspection.
They further state that the ordered tax control in the premises of KK Crvena zvezda for the calendar years 2022 and 2023, while the Budget Inspection will carry out the control for the period from June 2022 until today.
According to the press release, the budget inspection, whose task is to control the purpose of spending all funds received by the club from the state, has already carried out a detailed control of the club for the period from 2012 to May 2022.
Then, according to Zvezda in the press release, an "official Record without any objections or violations" was made.
While Zvezda immediately announced that the inspection in Partizan was reported by numerous Belgrade media.
Vučić - you do not exist without the state
Combing the business of the two Belgrade clubs comes later monodramas by Aleksandar Vučić who reacted on Sunday morning to the statement of Partizan coach Željko Obradović that Partizan "is not a state project".
President Vučić called it a "disgusting attack on the state", claiming that the two clubs would not exist without the state.
Vucic said that he could guarantee with his life that Partizan owes six million euros in taxes, and Zvezda owes 1,2 million.
After that TV performance, both clubs published tables showing how much they allegedly earned themselves in previous years, and how much they received from the state and public companies.
According to that table, about forty percent of the income comes "from the state". Last season, KK Crvena zvezda received over eleven million euros, and Partizan received half as much.
In a statement, Partizan directly refuted the president's words, stating that they have already settled most of the tax debt.
