Svetislav Bule Goncić he was officially dismissed from the post of manager National Theatre in Belgrade, it was published in the Official Gazette.
Although the mandate of Svetislav Goncić at the head of the National Theater lasts until December 2026, the director of the National Theater decided to retire for personal and family reasons on July 5.
Dr. Dragoljub Bajić, an opera artist and music pedagogue, was appointed acting manager of the National Theater in Belgrade, who was appointed deputy director of the National Theater Opera at the beginning of May this year.
He has been a prominent member of the Serbian Progressive Party for four years.
He was a permanent member of the Opera ensemble of the National Theater in Belgrade from 2004 to 2023. Behind him are a number of roles such as: Don Pasquale in the opera of the same name, Sarastro ("The Magic Flute"), Don Basilo ("The Barber of Seville"), Prince Gremin ("Eugene Onegin"), the title role in "Attila", Zacharias ("Nabucco"), Daland ("The Flying Dutchman"), Oroveso ("Norma"), Haji Toma ("Bone"), Geron de Ravoir ("Manon Lescaut"), Timur ("Turandot")...
He has performed in prestigious opera houses and concert halls in Vienna, Salzburg, Dubai, Seoul, Florence, Moscow, Bucharest, and has a notable academic career - he is a full-time assistant professor at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, where he once completed his undergraduate and doctoral studies in solo singing.
"With the selection of Dragoljub Bajić, the National Theater in Belgrade continues its long-standing commitment to fostering the highest artistic standards," the National Theater pointed out.
When Dragoslav Bokan was appointed as the president of the Board of Directors of the National Theater, a part of the employees of that theater appealed to Goncić to remain in the position of director until the end of his mandate, until December 2026.
They expressed concern about the possibility that, in accordance with the Statute of the National Theater, in the event that Goncić leaves, the position of manager will automatically be taken over by the newly elected president of the Board of Directors, Dragoslav Bokan.
They believed that such a change could negatively affect the atmosphere, professional standards and continuity in the work of an institution of national importance.
