Director Šabac Theatre, Aleksandra Delic, she refused to receive the President of the Association of Dramatic Artists of Serbia, Pavle Pekić, with the delegation, to the previously scheduled meeting. People arrived for the meeting at the appointed time, but she decided not to receive them. They were told that there was no possibility of the meeting taking place.
According to the agreement, they were supposed to discuss the current situation in the Šabac Theater and the position of drama artists in this institution.
This was the second attempt for the UDUS delegation to meet with Aleksandra Delic, the first meeting was accepted and then postponed.
By the way, in her addresses to the public, the director stated several times that "her door is always open" and that she is always ready for a conversation.
Aleksandra Delic was the acting director of the Šabac Theater, and she was appointed director this April. This year, the theater did not have a single premiere, because it canceled one, and did not even start another production, citing the "social climate". For the next season, she predicted three premieres: a puppet show, a duodrama and a New Year's show.
The trade union "Nezavisnost" of this theater reminds that the collective does not have employed puppeteers, and asks the question of who will be hired to play in this play, or whether the actors will be expected to practice art for which they are not trained.
One and a half million dinars have been set aside for this performance.
What worries them more is that two and a half million dinars have been allocated for duodrama, a format of play that usually requires less funding. Just for the direction of this play, the director decided almost a million dinars. "Given that this fee is far higher than usual, we hope that the director will bring in Bob Wilson, Jan Fabre, or some other renowned theater director whose success would justify such an investment," say employees.
The director has not yet announced to whom she has allocated these fees.
The representatives of UDUS could have discussed all this, if Aleksandra Delic had received them.
