That the drama artist Nataša Ninković is no longer in National Theatre than in Yugoslav Drama, all media announced on Saturday.
Nataša Ninković started her acting career at the National Theatre, where for 30 years she played the main roles in most of the plays that carried the repertoire of this house, so her decision to leave all that and join the Yugoslav Drama Theater was surprising and, given the current SNS invasion of the National Theatre, caused speculation about the reasons for her departure.
Unnecessary insinuations
For "Vreme", Nataša Ninković says that "everything is politicized in our country at the moment, hence the various insinuations that I read yesterday regarding my transfer to the JDP", and specifies:
"It would be very dishonest on my part to say that it has anything to do with the current political moment at the National Theater. I made the decision six months ago in agreement with Tamara Vučković, the director of the JDP, and Svetislav Buleta Goncić, the then manager of the National Theater. We wanted it to happen at the end of the season for various reasons and it took place in a very friendly atmosphere."
National Theatre
He emphasizes that "The National Theater is the place where I started my career, matured and ate 'his bread' for more than 30 years, and I thank him endlessly for that. It will always be my home. No one can take that feeling away from me, because management changes (although often they are not aware of it) and we are the ones who stay."

"I have to be fair and say that no one at the National Theater ever conditioned or discriminated against me because of a different orientation or thought. On the contrary! There were "splits" but only for artistic reasons and affinity. In these 30 years, maybe our tastes were often different, but all in all it was a good relationship", says Nataša Ninković.
Yugoslav Drama Theater
He describes the Yugoslav Drama Theater as "smaller, more intimate, in which I have been playing for a long time, I have nice roles and in which I feel very good. If I were to point out a difference, it would perhaps be the feeling that in JDP everything happens, it happens because of the performance of what is on the stage, while in the National Theater, whether because of its size or the lull that the designation 'folk' gives you, performances often happen despite everything."

Nataša Ninković, as a guest actress, is already part of the repertoire of the Yugoslav Drama Theater. In April 2023, he has been playing for 10 years Miss, a dramatization of Andrić's novel directed by Gorčin Stojanović, premiered this March Eldorado (directed by Veljko Mićunović) in which she was a guest, Oedipus (directed by Vito Taufer) is probably the most famous play of the current Belgrade repertoire - to mention only some of the plays of the Yugoslav Drama in which Nataša Ninković plays.
In recent years, actor flights between theaters have become more frequent. Sloboda Mićalović and Marija Vicković moved from the National Theater to the Yugoslav Drama Theater, while Radovan Vujović moved from the JDP to the National Theater, while Anita Mančić and Nenad Jezdić from "Atelje 212" moved to the Yugoslav Drama Theater.
