Individual users Yettel they were left without television channels N1 and Nova, after the operator changed their channel offer without first asking. The company states that it has not canceled any channel, but that it is a pilot project that will last 12 months.
The change also applies to some users who were previously SBB users. According to them, N1 and Nova disappeared from their channel list without prior notice or the opportunity to choose whether they wanted such a change.
One of the users, a member of the European Movement in Serbia, Ana Stevanović Đukić, announced that instead of the N1 program, she received an offer to subscribe to the channel, as well as a notification from the operator, portal Nova reports.
The message she received states that her package is part of a pilot project and that due to the change in the offer, the monthly subscription during the next 12 months has been reduced by 300 dinars. Users are left with the option to keep the previous offer, but only if they contact the call center or go to a Yettel store and activate the appropriate TV add-on.
Yettel: Examining the flexibility of TV packages
Yettel explained to the Nova portal that the aim of the pilot project is to examine whether more flexible TV packages better suit the needs of users. The company states that selected users received a package with a lower monthly subscription and a different offer of television channels.
The operator claims that users who do not want to participate in the project can activate the TV add-on through the Contact Center. That way, according to the company's explanation, they keep the original list of channels, but at the full price of the subscription.
The pilot project should last for a year, and it covers different providers and categories of television content, including news, children's and entertainment channels. Yettel stated that during this period it will analyze the results and reactions of users before making decisions on possible further changes to the offer.
Portal Nova also asked the company for an explanation as to why exactly N1 and Nova were removed from the offer of certain users, as well as whether some other channels were removed from the list. The question was also raised whether the change has anything to do with the election campaign.
Yettel did not answer those questions.
