NIS made a profit of 9,8 billion dinars in six months in the first half of this year, which is a significantly better result compared to the loss of 3,6 billion dinars in the first six months of last year, the financial report shows.
"In the first half of 2026 NIS "The group, in accordance with the complex business circumstances, continued to implement a program of measures aimed at preserving financial discipline and optimizing costs at all levels, while maintaining the financing of strategically important projects," NIS said.
Decrease in sales segment aviation fuel it amounted to 29 percent and is a consequence of the introduction of sanctions, according to the report.
The number of employees at the end of June was 13.504, which is a decrease compared to the same period last year, when 13.901 employees worked in this company.
Bearing in mind the business conditions, NIS will remain committed to firm financial discipline in the rest of the year, especially bearing in mind that the prices on the oil market are unstable and that it is possible that the group will face the effect of more expensive oil supplies in the next quarter.
"In addition to the program to preserve business efficiency, the achieved result was also influenced by the increase in the prices of crude oil and oil derivatives, as well as the positive effect of cheaper supplies, i.e. higher revenues from sales," they add.
During the first six months of 2026, an increase in sales revenue was recorded compared to the same period of the previous year and they amount to 171,7 billion dinars compared to 145,8 billion dinars.
The first half of the year brought NIS an eight percent drop in turnover compared to the same period in 2025, so that the total turnover amounted to 1.400 thousand tons.
The drop in retail sales amounted to 14 percent due to a drop in sales in Serbia caused by the introduction of NIS sanctions that led to difficult payments at gas stations, a decrease in sales to corporate customers due to the termination of cooperation with certain customers due to NIS sanctions in 2026, and a drop in sales in innoactives, as a consequence of the current geopolitical situation.
The drop in wholesale amounted to five percent and is a consequence of the decrease in turnover in the innoactive segment, with the additional impact of the introduction of the Regulation on banning exports from Serbia.
In the first six months of 2026, a total of 554.000 conditional tons of oil and gas were produced, which is 0,3 percent less compared to the same period last year. In the second quarter of this year, a total of 274.000 conditional tons of oil and gas were produced, which is 1,6 percent less compared to the same period last year.
The total volume of oil processing and semi-products in the first half of this year amounted to 1.614 thousand tons and is slightly lower than in the same period last year, while the total turnover of oil derivatives decreased from 1.524 to 1.399 thousand tons.
