The utility company from Bačka Palanka announced a tender for extinguishing the ongoing fire

Public utility company "Komunalprojekt" from Bačke Palanka is urgently looking for a company that will help it shut down fire at the city landfill which, as stated in the documentation, occurred in the night between July 2 and 3. The purchase value is 3,5 million dinars, she announced New economy.

This unusual procurement is carried out in a negotiated procedure without publishing a public invitation due to "extreme urgency", because as stated, the circumstances in which it was announced could not be foreseen.

Namely, the public utility company "Komunalprojekt" needs to put out the fire at the Municipal Landfill in Bačka Palanka, about which, as stated, the Fire Service and the Emergency Headquarters of the Municipality of Bačka Palanka were informed.

In the documentation, it is added that this utility company rehabilitates the fire by extinguishing it with water using fire trucks and hydrant cannons, however, as the fire spreads, it cannot be stopped with water, and the fire affects the health of citizens.

"At the suggestion of the fire service commander and by order of the Emergency Headquarters, the fire needs to be extinguished by filling in a large amount of earth, about 4.000 cubic meters, so that it does not spread further and cause more damage," the part of the explanation for the urgent procurement procedure states.

It is added that the earth needs to be dug up and then transported to the location of the fire, spread around the edges of the landfill and the fire itself, as well as the surface under the fire, until the fire is completely extinguished.

In the middle of last month, on June 17 to be exact, the local media in Bačka Palanka announced that on that day a fire broke out at the landfill in the city, and that all available firefighting teams of PUK "Komunalprojekt" and additional machinery immediately went to the field.

However, according to the media, the fire was not extinguished that day, and the cause of the fire itself was not known.

Three days later, on June 20, as Bačka Palanka Vesti wrote, the fire was repaired, and 3.000 cubic meters of earth were poured on the right edge of the landfill.
