Director of the Center for Local Self-Government, Nikola Jovanović, warns that "dense construction" of 600.000 square meters is planned on the site of the former IMT factory, which will lead to inhumane housing in New Belgrade blocks.
The Center for Local Self-Government (CLS) appealed to the Committee of the Belgrade City Assembly for plans to reject the draft plan at the meeting for the land of the former factory IMT.
Director of CLS Nikola Jovanović stated in a statement that the plan envisages "dense construction" which, as he pointed out, "will lead to negative consequences for traffic and communication".
As he stated, this will also lead to "inhumane housing in Novobeograd blocks", the statement reads.
He also said that "that land was alienated in a non-transparent procedure", and, as he added, "without checking the origin of the buyer's capital and without paying for land conversion".
"Residents of New Belgrade have repeatedly stated that they want the space of the former IMT to be used for additional facilities that would revitalize the Sava and Bežanje blocks, and not for ready-made housing and investor urbanism," he said.
He said that the plan covers 36 hectares, and assessed that its final version will decide whether New Belgrade will be the municipality of the future or a "deprived dormitory for money laundering".
Megalomaniac complex
Let us remind you that on the land of the former IMT tractor factory near Block 63, everything is ready for the construction of a megalomaniacal complex with over 600.000 square meters of usable space and towers over 100 meters high. The investor is ABL Solvent, owned by Davor Matsura.
The "Green line" complex, which will be built on the site of the former IMT factory in New Belgrade near Block 63, will contain traffic roads, infrastructural facilities, green areas, public service facilities and complexes, and mixed city centers in addition to residential and commercial buildings. The investor is ABL Solvent, whose owner is Davor Matsura. "Alta pay group", the majority owner of Alta banka Beograd, is also XNUMX% owned by this businessman. Biro Zap prepared an architectural and urban planning project.
"ABL Solvent" bought the property of the former Yugoslav giant in 2021 for 70,6 million euros. As the Vojvodina research portal "Voice" wrote at the time, this company made the purchase despite the fact that, according to the data of the Agency for Economic Registers, in the previous year 2020, it had a financial loss of 14,4 million dinars.
"We are talking about a company that did not have any business income from its operations, but the only income in the business year of 182.000 dinars came from grants and premiums." However, in the bankruptcy proceedings of the IMT factory, this company bought an attractive building plot for 70,6 million euros, by obtaining loans for the entire amount from Miodrag Kostić's AIK bank," this portal reported.

Clients of Alta Bank in Serbia no longer have access to their accounts. Among them are many Russians. When will they be able to get their money? Will they have to say goodbye to sums greater than 50.000 euros?
After the license of ALTA Bank was revoked, the fate of other companies of Davor Matsura, who was arrested on Monday, is also uncertain. Among them is Idea, the third largest retail chain in Serbia, which employs more than 7.000 people. Could it become the new Agrokor?
The owner of Alta Bank, Davor Matsura, was detained during the night, after the police searched the premises of the bank for more than 30 hours, which was revoked by the National Bank of Serbia and declared bankrupt
North Macedonia introduced a temporary administration over Alta Bank in Bitola. On Saturday, when the National Bank of Serbia revoked Alta Bank's operating license, around two million euros were withdrawn from this bank in Bitola.
What fate awaits the governor of the National Bank of Serbia, Jorgovanka Tabaković, given the connections between her and Alta Bank, which "Vreme" previously pointed out. Will Tabaković play the same scenario that she prepared for her predecessor at the head of the NBS, Dejan Šoškić, now a candidate for deputy of the winning Student List?
Davor Matura's ALTA empire is the transplanted heart of the corrupt regime of Aleksandar Vučić, who was defeated in the October 25 elections. From ALTA Bank, roads lead directly to the top of the progressive government.
Things are unfolding at an astonishing speed, as astonishing as the speed with which Vucic conceded a convincing defeat. Impatience is understandable, but misplaced
My honor is called loyalty, it was written on the metal buckles on the belts of the SS, which emphasized their loyalty to Adolf Hitler. Batina detachments of the Essenes wore phantoms on their heads instead of party insignia. Their loyalty was expressed in euros.
