According to the testimony of tenant and architect Slobodan Maldini, Deli's fan graffiti on Bežanijska Kosa was done with official municipal approval, despite opposition from citizens.
Although city authorities regularly hear statements about problems with the budget and frequent lack of money for certain projects, the example of budget funds being used to finance fan graffiti in certain areas - says the exact opposite.

Namely, the architect Slobodan Maldini said that a few days ago, unidentified persons with hoods came to Bežanijska kosa and painted the buildings in this area.
"After the tenants rebelled, and after they called the police. The tenants mentioned that the buildings are private property, and they crossed over what they had painted in red and white to gray. However, the next day they came with a solution from the municipality of New Belgrade, and they were led by a member of the municipal council to protect them from the police. He said that they are the ecological green patrol and that they are painting the whole of New Belgrade in red and white," said Maldini.
According to him, the courtyard between the buildings whose facades are painted in red and white colors is called the "white courtyard", not because of its current color, "but because of the white powder that has been sold in that place for 20 years".
"We have been suffering this for 20 years. In the morning we trip over syringes, in the evening we see children snorting cocaine, and joints are smoked in front of the elementary school. So, we were under siege here, and just when we eradicated all that, and when we cleaned the yard, that narrative is now coming back to us through the municipality of Novi Beograd," said Maldini.
He called on the Sports Association "Crvena zvezda" to disassociate itself from the project of painting the buildings, because it introduces division.
He points out that this is the attitude of all the neighbors, but that many are afraid to come out publicly and announce it, because they are afraid of being physically attacked. He says that he also called the Municipal Militia, but that he was told there that everything is done with the municipal solution, so that they are powerless because of that.
"Our children are not even 'Delius' or 'Undertaker' and should not be shared. this is a yard that belongs to all children, not just the red and white ones. I am telling the municipality of Novi Belgrade to disband the environmental patrol and the project of painting New Belgrade in red and white," said Maldini.
