Apartment cleaning in Belgrade is getting more and more expensive: Waiting for a cleaning lady for weeks

Olivera Jelenković, who cleans apartments in addition to her regular job, says that the additional engagement brings her significant income. When two or three clients pay for her services per month, that money can amount to one month's rent.

Regular apartment maintenance charges about 1.200 dinars per hour. General cleaning is more expensive, between 1.500 and 1.600 dinars, because it involves moving things and more demanding tasks, such as cleaning after painting, when there is more work around windows and dirty floors.

What are the prices for cleaning business premises

Cleaning of business premises also represents a significant part of the market. According to the RTS data, the monthly maintenance of smaller buildings costs about 40.000 dinars, while larger ones are allocated between 50.000 and 60.000 dinars.

Dragana Vidović, the owner of the cleaning agency, says that the demand is high. Among the women engaged in this work, there are retired women with low incomes, as well as those who have lost their jobs and need additional income.

There are currently around 130 specialized agencies operating in Belgrade that offer various cleaning services, according to RTS.

Growing demand and high service prices indicate that apartment cleaning has become a significant market, where it is increasingly difficult to find a free appointment with a reliable cleaner.
