Members of the Serbian Army are in conditions of long-term drought, at the request of local self-government bodies, engaged in providing assistance to water supply households in the territory of Bujanovac, Veliko Gradište and Kruševac, the Ministry of Defense announced on Monday.
Primarily, wells and water tanks used for households and for feeding livestock are being replenished, namely in Donji Novi Selo near Bujanovac, in Kruševac village Veliki Šiljegovac and in Ram near Veliki Gradište.
Members of the Serbian Armed Forces with water tankers will remain engaged in those places until the stabilization of hydrological conditions and water supply, the statement added.

When it comes to the tasks of providing assistance to citizens, the engineers of the Serbian Army take care of the safety and maintenance of the pontoon bridges over the Velika Morava near Svilajnec and over the Danube, from Zemunski Quay to the Great War Island, and military medical teams in support of the Ministry of Health implement the "Military Doctor in the Village" actions.
It is also added that the forces of the Serbian Armed Forces, which participated in extinguishing the fire in Deliblatska peščara in the previous days, are currently on standby for engagement in case the fire flares up again.
