In Novi Sad Gymnasium "Jovan Jovanović Zmaj", as reported by parents student, a serious procedural dispute arose after the school's administration refused to receive written statements from three suspended professors as part of disciplinary proceedings.
According to their claims, the legal representatives of professors Jovan Travica, Dragan Vulić and Rima Grujić sent statements within the legal deadline, but they were returned from both addresses - the school's official address and the address where the administration is currently located, with a note that the reception was not carried out.
"School management, headed by the director Radivoje P. Stojković, refused their admission, which can be seen on the return slip that the professor's legal representatives received from the post office. In this way, the accused professors are denied the legally prescribed right to defend themselves", the statement of the parents of Jovina Gymnasium states.
Referring to the Law on the Basics of the Education System, parents and legal representatives assess that, as they claim, the right to defend employees in disciplinary proceedings has been called into question.
They appealed to the competent institutions, including the Ministry of Education and the Provincial Secretariat, to investigate the actions of the school administration and the circumstances of the case.
