Architectural studio Proaspekt presented today a website called "Prekoputa Kosutnjak"through which citizens are provided with continuous public insight into the process of creating the Spatial Plan of the special purpose area between Blagoj Parović, Knez Višeslav, Miloj Zakić and Vladimir Rolović streets on Chukaritsa.
"For the first time in planning and urban planning practice, we have provided citizens with continuous public insight into the process of creating the Spatial Plan of Special Purpose Areas. We want to make this process of interest to the public completely transparent, and our communication with the public responsible and two-way," said the professor. Vladimir Lojanica, the founder of the Proaspekt studio, who manages the development of this planning document.
He assessed that this area, located opposite the protected forest Košutnjak, had been neglected in terms of planning for decades and that it represented "a kind of black hole of Čukarica".
"Over the past 70 years, more than 100 buildings and 200 square meters have been built on this territory, without a single planning document. By creating a Spatial Plan for a special purpose area, we will know exactly where kindergartens and schools will be built in this area in the future, where we will have new roads, and how the public space will be arranged," said Lojanica.
He added that the planning is adapted to the current situation on the ground and that the priority is to preserve all vital trees.
He pointed out that the public is rightly concerned when it comes to the urban development of the city, which, according to him, is a consequence of growing institutional mistrust, ignoring the opinion of the profession and inadequate interpretation of the concept of public interest.
"I do not shy away from an objective and reasoned critical reaction of the public. Moreover, I think that it is necessary in order to reach the best solutions," said Lojanica.
In December of last year, the Government of Serbia made a decision to join the development of the Spatial Plan of the special purpose area for the area between the streets of Blagoj Parović, Knez Višeslav, Miloj Zakić and Vladimir Rolović in Čukarica.
This was preceded by the announcement of a public tender by the Association of Belgrade Architects for the urban and landscape revitalization of this area, and the tenderers were Radio Television of Serbia (RTS), the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education of the University of Belgrade (DIF), the Yugoslav Cinematheque, Košutnjak Film and Avala Studios.
At the competition, the first prize was awarded to the work of the Proaspekt studio, which today manages the creation of the Spatial Plan of the special purpose area.
