Fire in Deliblato Sands, which covered three and a half thousand hectares, spread towards the Danube, and currently the situation is critical on the section Dubovac - Bela Crkva, says Kovinske Info editor Violeta Živkov.
Fire, who was all the time on the left side of the Danube when viewed from Kovino, now managed to cross the main road and move towards the Danube, towards the weekend settlement of Slatine, says Živkov.

"The weekenders were previously evacuated from that area yesterday, as well as people who have lived there for most of the year, and there is also a woman who takes care of stray dogs. Some stayed to defend their buildings since the fire spread to a kilometer of some of those houses," she said.
Yesterday, videos appeared showing hunting grounds burning, and Živkov says that there are at least 500 deer in that area and that one of the six observation posts that are there has burned down.
"People testified that the animals went out on the road and wandered frantically, reacting instinctively to save themselves. The situation really seems like a horror movie with no idea of the outcome and ending, because the direction of the fire and the location where it is necessary to intervene with increased forces are constantly changing," she explains.

Živkov also estimated that the fire covered more than 3.500 hectares because it is a long stretch, and that the stretch Dubovac - Bela Crkva is currently the most threatened.
She says that as of this morning there is no official information on what citizens should do.

"The problem is that there are no clear instructions from the headquarters that should coordinate this action. These are mostly warnings - be careful, be safe, contact us, but we don't have anyone... In this current situation, that is not enough," Živkov points out.
