The beginning of the new school year: 64.000 children will sit down in the classrooms for the first time

Summer vacation is over, and today is the first day of the new one school years.

In more than 1.700 elementary and secondary schools, about 538.000 elementary school students and about 240.000 high school students will enter.

According to the data of the Ministry of Education, in the school year 2024/2025. for the first time, around 64.000 champions will sit in the stands.

With the new school year comes changes for both elementary and high school students.

The maximum number of students per class has been reduced, the holiday will be somewhat shorter and the dress code will have to be observed.

New measures have been introduced to combat all forms of violence.

On the occasion of the beginning of the school year, the traffic police will carry out controls in school zones and take all measures during these controls in order to preserve the level of safety of all road users, especially pedestrians.

The "Careful" action was also launched, which will help children better understand how to follow traffic rules and be safe road users.
