At the Belgrade airport today around 10:XNUMX a.m., there was an interruption in the operation of the software for accessing the system used by airlines to check in passengers for the flight, the Belgrade airport announced.
As stated in the press release of the airport operator "Nikola Tesla", it is a global software failure that is beyond the airport's control, and which has affected several airports in Europe, the Middle East and Africa on several occasions in the past few days.
"Our technical services are in contact with a foreign service provider who is working on eliminating the malfunction as soon as possible. We apologize to the passengers who were affected by this situation and invite them to check the status of their flights on the airport's website and in selected airlines," Belgrade Airport said.
Last week there was also a software crash for two days in a row.
Air Serbia: Arrive at the airport at least three hours before take-off
The Air Serbia company announced that due to a new failure of the IT system of Belgrade Airport "Nikola Tesla" this afternoon there were more crowds at the flight check-in counters.
"Due to the very slow check-in process," Air Serbia "asks passengers to arrive at the airport no later than three hours before the scheduled departure time."
The consequence of the malfunction is "significant delays of flights of airlines departing from the Belgrade airport, including Air Serbia," the company said.
That deviation from the planned flight schedule during the high summer season can lead to the displacement of airport "slots" by the European air traffic control and even greater delays, to highlighting the working hours of the crews and the working hours of individual airports.
"All passengers who may lose their connections will be redirected to alternative flights," it was announced.
