Crowds at the Batrovci-Bajakovo crossing were reduced after the opening of additional terminals, so now the wait to enter Croatia is about an hour, in contrast to earlier delays of three to six hours due to the introduction of the new Entry-Exit system.
The full implementation of the new system has begun. ENtry-Exit system for entry into the European Union and the Schengen countries, which created crowds at the border crossings, and the longest lines today were at the crossings to Croatia.
As the Nova journalist reports, at the end of the day the situation is completely different than it was during the whole day because now the space between the border terminal Batrovci and Bajakovo has been emptied, and now the detention on the Croatian side is about an hour.
Let us remind you that during today's day, citizens waited between three and six hours.
As Nova's reporter unofficially learns, around 6:00 p.m. Croatian officials opened four more terminals, and by the end of the day they were working in full force with a total of eight terminals.
The previous night, passengers waited for more than eight hours at the border crossing
In the past 24 hours, 21 thousand passengers or 5.600 cars crossed this border crossing with Croatia.
Journalist Davor Lukač spent the entire last night at the border due to the start of the new system. He said in a post on Facebook that under these conditions, the wait will be much longer than the two to three hours expected.
"I leave for my hometown on the regular Belgrade-Makarska bus line at 7:00 p.m., we arrive at the Serbian border at 8:45 p.m., at the Croatian border at 9:00 p.m. and then hell. There are 19 crowded buses in front of us at the entrance to Croatia. Not to be outdone, we entered Croatia at 04:50 a.m., at the time when according to the schedule I was supposed to get out in Knin. I arrived at 12:15 p.m. So those who complain that they will have to wait for two or three hours, they don't know what pain is," Lukacs said in his post.
