Fear exists to protect us
"Serbia hardly exists on the world map, let alone Serbian literature. In order for a literature to exist in the world framework, it must be a state project, it must be worked on systematically. And for years, we elected some kind of authorities that saw artists as their enemies. Today, we have come to the point where all intellectuals in Serbia are called 'false elite' from the highest places, thus courting mediocrity and celebrating ignorance and primitivism."
