Za "Time" from Banja Luka
Milorad Dodik he closed the political circle. He came to power as an American "breath of fresh wind" on the tanks of SFOR, that is, NATO, and he leaves under the patronage of those who brought him to power two decades ago. True, slower than many would like, but with concessions that will not make him famous, especially from the point of view of what he advocated.
Since the referendum on independence Republic of Srpska the anger of Alexander Vulin and the empty promises that echo in the even more empty conclusions of the National Assembly remain. Dodik put an end to her public humiliation under the ultimatum of the "friendly" American administration, which, as he said, finally understands the Serbs in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This means that all laws that meant legal strengthening of the entity have been withdrawn. In return, the USA lifted sanctions on Dodik, his family members and close associates. Perhaps as a pledge, Nikola Špirić and Milan Tegeltija were kept on the black list.
At the time when he advocated for a multi-ethnic BiH and demanded that war criminals be brought to The Hague, Dodik was branded a traitor in the "Serbian world". Then, little by little, he became one of the "two biggest Serbs in the region", side by side with his "brother" Aleksandar Vučić. Now, after the agreement with the Americans, part of the public considers him a traitor again.
Karma is a miracle. This is also confirmed by Copernican conversions on Dodik's political path. Although he signed the agreement for BiH's path to membership in NATO, he remembered under Russian influence that the same NATO had bombed the Serbs. That is why the RS did not allow BiH to join the North Atlantic Alliance, but - that has also changed. The fact that Ana Trišić Babić took over Dodik's chair hints that part of his agreement with the Americans includes the cessation of sabotaging BiH's entry into NATO. Namely, Ana Trišić-Babić is recognized in international circles as an advocate of membership in this military alliance.
THEY ARE NOT EVEN AT THE PARASTOS TOGETHER ANYMORE
During his long reign, Dodik saw off many rulers in Serbia: Slobodan Milošević, Zoran Đinđić, Vojislav Koštunica, Boris Tadić and Tomislav Nikolić. Along the way, Vučić underwent a transformation from a "political abortion" to a brother with whom Dodik built the "Serbian world", celebrated together the days of the flag and Serbian unity, promoted "true traditional values" in the presence of the Serbian patriarch and supported the progressives in the elections to the "exported voters" from the RS. In return, he implied that his judgment and position would be a priority in Vučić's talks with whoever of the international officials he met with. But there it is…
Far from the fact that Vučić only played for Dodik in Republika Srpska. On the contrary, he has been looking for his replacement for some time. On the other hand, Dodik, when he needed to, renounced every ally without even blinking an eye.
The raised tones between Miloš Vucevic and Milorad Dodik in the halls of the anniversary celebration of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska pointed to an earthquake in the "Serbian world". Also the public slaps of Aleksandar Vulin. The "brotherly hugs" that followed did not change anything. Vučić's statements after them cannot convince anyone that the President of Serbia is still answering Dodik's hidden number. However, he claims otherwise.
"Aleksandar Vučić is my brother and there are no disagreements between us, there won't be and there shouldn't be. We are one nation that no one will and can never divide. And to those who wish for something like that, I only want to say one thing - you will not watch that movie," said Dodik for the Srna news agency. He added that he "has an even fiercer form of love for Serbia and thinks and feels that way".
That love was expressed almost every week until recently. There was no event in Serbia without Dodik standing side by side with Vučić. Today, that love, like any other, has worn out so much over time that they are no longer even "at the memorial service together". Nenad Stevandić, the president of the National Assembly of the RS, had to go to Belgrade to repent after the famous session where the entity parliament renounced all the laws that held Bosnia and Herzegovina hostage to Dodik's verdict. At the memorial service for the victims of the carport in Novi Sad, he stood next to Vučič and the political leadership of Serbia in Belgrade. In Banja Luka, the lonely brothers from this side of the Drina remained - Dodik, member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović and RS Prime Minister Savo Minić.
"No one can argue with us. Aleksandar Vučić is the only one in the future who can ensure the right position of Serbia in the international processes that await us in a multipolar world", said Dodik recently, adding that the claims that there was a disagreement in the relationship between Banjaluka and Belgrade are "just empty dreams of those who want to divide the Serbian people".
Aleksandar Vučić's messages sounded different. He was particularly struck by Dodik's statement that his political career will not be determined by "neither the American nor the Brussels administration, nor Moscow nor Belgrade".
"I'm sorry if Banjaluka feels threatened by Belgrade, since we did our best to keep quiet, listen and help, and we never interfered in anything, but what are you going to do," said Vučić. He immediately recognized himself as a nuisance to everyone and sent a significant message: "Whoever the Croats praise, know that he does not do much good for the Serbian people. Whoever the Croats attack is always the best choice for the Serbian people and Serbia."
LETTERS TO FORMER FRIENDS
25 years ago, Milorad Dodik wrote a letter asking Milošević to leave, labeling his rule "the worst possible horror that has happened to Serbs in recent history". There he says: "It's time for you to go, Slobodan. Never has any Serbian emperor, prince, king or president, since the arrival of the Serbs in the Balkans, caused so much misery to his people, shed so much blood, fenced them off from the whole world, as you have done." Dodik assessed that the Serbs in Croatia "no longer know where Belgrade is, those from Knin don't know what happened to them, while the Kosovo Serbs have only faith and hope left. (...) You devastated a rich country, proud people, tied it to Asia, forced your people to die in a war against the whole world to save humanity from the new world order. It's time to draw a line under your rule. Your people don't want you anymore. Force doesn't help you here. Do at least one favor To the Serbs - let them freely say that they want to break up with you. Your interest and the Serbian interest diverge here. You go left, and let the Serbs go straight."
Dodik's political rise is related to the political purchase of Telekom Republika Srpska, when the Prime Minister of Serbia at the time, Vojislav Koštunica, heavily oversubscribed the value of the entity operator. At the time, Dodik told Koštunica that he was a "proven friend of Republika Srpska" and that the sale of Telekom Srpska to Telekom Srbija was among the most responsible for the fact that the sale of Telekom Srpska to Telekom Srbija enabled the social, economic and political stabilization of the RS". Dodik also hugged Boris Tadić during the time when Tadić was the president of Serbia, and wrote to him five years ago when he saw him on Face TV in Sarajevo: "Dear Boris, I couldn't recognize you because I don't believe that you even recognize yourself after the transformation that you experienced. I have remained the same, Mile, a Krajišnik Serb, never a Bosnian Serb, from Laktaš, from Republika Srpska, which gladly welcomed you as president of Serbia".
Dodik emphasized that he does not know what trouble made Tadić seek support from the Bosniaks in Sarajevo and why, as the former president of Serbia, he followed in the footsteps of a political loser like Čedomir Jovanović.
"Dear Boris, you were the head of a serious country, which does not deserve to be subjected to humiliation by its presidents, even former ones. What can make the former president of Serbia speak like that about the Republika Srpska and its representatives on Bosniak television? I believe, Boris, a serious problem. If that problem is called regret for the chair, from which you were kicked out by the will of the people in the elections, then I have no understanding for that problem, because both your and my political mandate are more important than Serbia and the Republika Srpska and our people". said Dodik in a letter to Tadić.
HE AGREED, IT WILL BE EVERYTHING HE WANTS.
He threatened Dodik with a Russian baton at a session of the United Nations Security Council and claimed that he had almost "driven" High Representative Kristijan Šmit to Germany and closed the OHR. Nothing happened: OHR still remained in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šmit will most certainly remain for some time, and he will not be the last High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina...
While Dodik demanded that everyone save him, he swore to brotherhood without caring about the brothers he would lose along the way. He lost many of them. He confirmed by his actions that he is an unscrupulous pragmatist who changes the record as needed. When he needs it, he is sometimes a cosmopolitan, patriot, traitor, defender of traditional and Christian values, sometimes a man who despises America, the West, NATO and the European Union, and sometimes he kisses their curds and swears that he has always been on the right side. Obviously, for him she is only one - his own.
