The Blitzkrieg dismissal of the directors of all ANN media in the region ten days ago does not inspire confidence. That's not how it's done unless it's a hostile takeover. One of the company's owners, Pedro Vargas David, appointed himself to the position of director. It is not unimportant to say that David's father, whom Vučić triumphantly said was his close friend, Mario David, was a long-time adviser to Viktor Orbán. It is also not unimportant to say that Alpak is a co-owner of the large Hungarian technology and telecommunications group 4iG, which during the reign of Viktor Orbán made a lot of money thanks to state jobs and acquisitions of strategic infrastructure

As political and economic twins, Orban and Vučić had a very extensive business-autocratic cooperation, so it is not silly to think that these powerful transactions, whose ultimate goal - at least it seems - is the destruction of media freedom, i.e. their business-political instrumentalization, are the result of joint activism. We can't keep silent that these days Yettel canceled some of its users [...]

How the individual guilt of Ratko Mladić was turned into an alleged defense of the entire nation and why Serbia still does not want to get rid of that burden. It was the individualization of guilt that offered Serbia a way out. The verdict did not attribute Mladic's crimes to the Serbs. She named the man, his command responsibility and the crimes for which he was convicted. The political and media elites chose the opposite: to hide behind the people and present the judgment of one general as the judgment of all. Because if Mladić is left alone, the issue of ideology, propaganda, war profiteers and the system that produced and protected him must be opened.
