Polling stations in four municipalities in the north Kosova they were closed last night at 19:XNUMX, which is the end of it referendum for the removal of the mayor.
The Serbs boycotted the referendum at the invitation of the Serbian List, and the turnout was so low that it can be said that there were more observers and members of the electoral committees than the citizens themselves who went to the polling stations, reports N1.
The President of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo, Krešnik Radonići, announced that today's voting process for the dismissal of the presidents of the municipalities in the north was not successful. At the last press conference, he announced that 124 people out of 13.000 registered voters voted in Leposavic, and 18 in Zubin Potok out of 6.000 with the right to vote. No one voted in Zvečan, and in North Mitrovica there were a total of 111 votes.
"The majority of registered voters did not vote as prescribed by the Law on Local Self-Government in the Republic of Kosovo, so the required 50 percent (plus one voter) was not reached," he said.
Therefore, as he stated, the CEC considers that the citizens' initiative to replace the president of the municipalities of Leposavić, Zubin Potok, Zvečan and Severna Mitrovica has failed.
There were no incidents
The prosecutor's office and the police of Kosovo said that during the voting there were no incidents or problems that could affect the course of the voting.
"There were more observers and those who are in the voting committees." The current mayors will continue to stay in these municipalities, they will make decisions in local self-governments, it is unknown what they will be. "Citizens are entering another period of uncertainty," reported the N1 reporter from the north of Kosovo.
In Zvečan, where no one voted for 12 hours, the MEC is packing empty ballots and other material that should be sent back to Pristina, that is, to the Central Election Commission, reports Kossev.

They were elected in North Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Leposavic and Zvečan almost a year ago in the first elections after the Serbs left the institutions and then boycotted the elections.
