For the export of weapons and military equipment in 2021, 371 licenses were issued, with a total value of 1,23 billion dollars, according to the Annual Report on the implementation of export, import, brokerage services and technical assistance in the field of weapons and military equipment for 2021, which was published by the Official Gazette.
Compared to 2020, 63 more permits were issued. The total value of the issued permits was significantly increased, by 47 percent, or by 393 million dollars.
In 2021, licenses for the export of weapons and military equipment were issued to buyers from 62 countries, which indicates, as stated in this report, that compared to 2020, the market was expanded by three countries.
"According to the number of permits issued, the following destinations are the most attractive: the United States of America (39), Bosnia and Herzegovina (31), the Republic of Bulgaria (29), the Czech Republic (19), the State of Israel (15), the Republic of Cyprus (14), the Republic North Macedonia (13) Republic of Turkey (12), Republic of Poland (11), Montenegro (11), Saint Kitts and Nevis (10) and Romania (10)," the report states.
In 2021, 16 new business entities were registered in the Register of persons authorized to carry out export and import of weapons and military equipment, brokerage services and technical assistance, and 25 were re-registered, according to this report.
