A few years ago, Aleksandar Vulin launched the idea of the "Serbian world" as an extraterritorial community with one leader. Nowadays, when the media has replaced ideology, the most accurate definition of the imagined boundaries of that imaginary space is the visibility of television.PinkIf this is true, then the borders of that world have changed significantly in recent months, and the Serbian world has shrunk in different ways.
It all actually started when SAEM Montenegro (their REM) canceled the broadcast of the morning TV program "Pink". Željko wrote angry letters that were read in the National Daily, but the Montenegrins remained consistent in their decision to temporarily suspend this program.
Not long after, BH Telekom, the state operator in Bosnia and Herzegovina, terminated the contract with "Pink" in the middle of the "Elite 9" season. Then Željko wrote angry letters again, then flew to Sarajevo and bought a local television. Thus, in Bosnia, "Elita" and "Pink" are watched through the platforms "Apolon" (for series and movies) and "Alfa TV", which is the sister television of RED Television from "Pink's" offer. It is interesting that Mitrović appealed to the nostalgia for Yugoslavia, past merits for which he received citizenship or decorations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but nothing helped. Today we are watching "Alfa" television, where female presenters from Bosnia are guests, and the main topic of the Serbian world is the situation in "Elita 9".
And there it's like during the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s, everyone is at war with everyone else, and then they get drunk and, if you're sorry, have sex, then they fight again and so on. All of this would have already been seen if it was not happening in Serbia, which has not had any functional regulatory body for electronic media for years. Thus, there have been several cases of extreme violence in reality shows, the clips have gone viral and have millions of views, but neither the ministry, nor the police, nor REM react to them.
In the last two months, we had a live strangulation, a broken nose, a broken tooth and a broken rib, but in the end without any consequences for the contestants, or for "Pink". We had the only example of interruption of the reality show three years ago, after the murders in "Ribnikar", Dubona and Mali Orašje, and that was on Vučić's recommendation. The anger of the citizens protesting in the streets was not enough for Mitrović, but he obeyed the president.
The consequence of the deterioration of relations between neighbors can be seen in the fact that the Serbian world, actually the "Pink" world, is shrinking intensively. Žex continued to portray himself as a victim and the owner of a large international company that operates on several continents, but let's not lie - "Pink's" audience and empire reach exactly the point where viewers know what Stanija's ass looks like or who is having sex or beating Anela or Maja. Mitrović told officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina that "Pink" is like a Hydra that grows three new heads in the place of one severed head. Unfortunately, instead of the REM reaction, in the Serbian world we only have the reaction of the Big Boss "Elite", who fines the bullies and then returns them to the show. That's why "Pink" works in Serbia, but also outside it, without a license, with an aesthetic that is identical to the works of art at the newly opened Vidikovac in Belgrade on the water. As in the videos of Dara Bubamara or Đogani, it is AI art adorned with clouds and positions for selfies from the top of Belgrade on the water.
But "Pink's" world is further shrinking and imploding thanks to the fact that every political tabloid now gets its own television, with less and less content and programs, while newspapers are getting thinner. The front pages are identical, and you no longer know what "Informer", "Hello", "Blic", "Srpski Telegraf" or "Kurir" is. This reduces the market and unifies the media space within Serbia, and the television of "Srpski Telegraf" was announced on the tenth anniversary of this printed propaganda bulletin. In the words of one of the criminals from the nineties - Bata Trlaje - the media market of pro-government televisions is "a small pond with a lot of tabloids". That's why before the last round of local elections, we also saw field work, when "Pink" remembered his genealogy and distributed tablet computers in rural schools.
Money from the budget is distributed as if the world will end tomorrow, RTS looks more and more like "Pink", both in terms of information and the rest of the program, so Žeks' world is shrinking again. Escape to virtual reality didn't help either, where in the AI video Mitrović rides roller skates across the old bridge in Mostar or skates around Baščaršija. You cannot portray yourself as a conciliator of Bosnia, while some retired security guards, together with the relevant minister, are shedding tears over the sad fate of Ratko Mladić in news programs and political circles from morning to night.
Especially hypocritical is the last scene of some kind of virtual hallucination in which you can see a fair with the flags of Serbia and Bosnia - Bosniaks on the left, Serbs on the right, as if at a mixed wedding. They don't believe in Željko's fantasies either in Bosnia, and by God, not even in Montenegro. Let me remind you, this fictional region is a stolen picture of the hug of a girl from Pazar and a guy with a sajkach, whose sincere hug during the protest was chorused by all the tabloids and the respective "Pink". That Yugonostalgia is fake and serves only as a semblance of normal relations and communication between the people. That three-headed hydra only feeds on the exploitation of the poorest part of the audience in these areas.
It seems that "Pink" has lost the title of Vučić's biggest media poltroon, because in the meantime the competition has become incredible, either editorially or individually. This week, for example, Judge Petrov won the title without competition during an interview on "Euronews Serbia". He explained, as he said very frankly, how his three-month-old daughter loves watching AV, all the interviews and appearances, even more than the chat. As in our pioneering song, Tito loves himself more than his mother, Tito loves himself more than his father!
Here, holy Serbian, be a child and surpass this love.
