Lawyer of the Belgrade Center for Human Rights Bishop Ilić he stated that his organization, on the occasion of the events of March 15 last year and the case "sound cannon", reported by thousands of citizens who complained about health problems, stating that their claims are verifiable through medical documentation and official procedures.
Ilić told the FoNet agency that citizens who reported complaints were referred to medical examinations and that they turned to neurologists and ENT specialists, where, as he claims, various consequences were documented, including hearing damage, anxiety, fear, as well as injuries caused in the stampede that, according to him, ensued among the crowd.
He pointed out that 47 citizens have applied The European Court of Human Rights, citing their experiences under their full identity, while around 200 people gave statements in the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade.

Commenting on today's announcement by the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, Ilic assessed that it was about "packaging" and an attempt to shift responsibility to students, citizens and doctors.
Speaking about the course of the proceedings, Ilić expressed his regret that, as he stated, the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime withdrew from the case, assessing that the circumstances of the case indicate the need for an investigation that would include the eventual organization and planning of the event.

"It could not have been the work of one man, it was planned with one very logical goal - to intimidate the gathered citizens. That should have been enough for TOK to stay in this case. However, they withdrew from the case and now we have Chief Prosecutor Nenad Stefanović, who, as in the case of the police officer who abused the female student, will eventually cut the strings in the case of the sound cannon," Ilić believes.
Previously, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade announced that it had requested the Criminal Police Directorate - Anti-Terrorism Service to check information on the alleged planning of a "simulation of the use of a 'sound cannon'" during the protest held on March 15, 2025.
