Protector of Citizens Zoran Pašalić said on Wednesday (January 8) that students approached him because of "violation of the right to personal dignity and false information in certain media".
He is earlier, at the end of December, called on all students, both those in the blockade and those not participating in the blockades, as well as faculty administrations and professors, to file reports if they think that any of their rights have been violated or they do not feel safe.
He informed Pasalić that some students complained to him about "threats to their right to education, their right to education and their right to freedom of movement", and that proceedings were initiated based on some of the complaints received.
"The Citizens' Protector initiated a procedure to control the evaluation of the legality and regularity of the work of the Sector for Higher Education, acting on the complaints of students that they were prevented from exercising their right to education and from regularly attending faculties which, as they stated, were blocked by 'unknown persons'". it is written in the announcement of the Protector of Citizens.

The Protector of Citizens pointed out that student complaints about the publication of personal data are under the jurisdiction of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance.
Due to the large number of phone calls, Pašalić asked all students, both those in the blockade and those who do not participate in the blockades, to contact the Protector of Citizens by e-mail at the address of the institution.
