Dušan Lj. Milenković, political consultant and one of the founders of Sprint Insight, a company for public opinion research, released parts of a June survey showing who makes up half of voters online on Telegram Aleksandar Vučić.
According to the research he conducted, more than 800.000 pensioner vote for Vučić. Milenkovic states that this means that at least half, and certainly more, of the president's voters come from the ranks of pensioners.
"These are people who can only be reached through TV, who are inaccessible to students and the rest of the opposition. For them, there is only one truth, and that is the one that Vučić tells," Milenkovic states in the announcement.
The most economically threatened, but the most loyal to the president
Pensioners, even though they belong to the most economically vulnerable category in Serbia, believe above average that the Serbian economy is getting better. Even the most difficult personal economic position does not change this perception.
What Milenkovic cites as the most interesting insight is that women over 65 are the most loyal to President Vučić, or as he says, "trees lean on trees, and Vučić leans on your grandmothers."
He concludes that pensioners are the most numerous group of the president's voters, more numerous than all others.
"Although this seems like common knowledge, it's not bad to break it down with the data. Everything indicates that pensioners are the largest cohort of Vučićević voters, far larger than all those blackmailed, bought and interested in him and his party. Far larger," explains Milenkovic in the post.
He adds that he is reserved when it is said that "Vučić is again buying the votes of pensioners", because, according to Milenkovic, he really does not need to buy them.
He concludes that a significant loss of pensioners' votes would be the sure end of Vučić's rule, but that there is no political message or offer that would convert them.
