Aleksandar Vučić said in a phone call to the Informer television program that protests in front of the Rectorate "violent", because it is "post-election trauma" because, according to him, the expected results were not achieved. Another reason, the president of Serbia believed, is that no one can explain what "pyrotechnic devices, cannon shots, brownies and syringes do in "Rectorate building".
He also said that a "significant" number of people do not show empathy towards the girl who died, that they do not want her death to be investigated, but that they have their own political interests which are much more important to them than that.
Education is being destroyed by "the most incompetent people in the country"
"We have seen violence and that pure, unadulterated violence in which they attack police officers. This is proof that everything is over. That small part of people remained. Tonight, when you add everything up, there were about 3.900 at the maximum. Radicalized elements and extremists remained," said Vučić.
He assessed that education is being destroyed by "the most incompetent people in the country".
"It will take years to get rid of this indolence. Someone said terrorist cells, someone said municipal committees of parties, neither one nor the other has a place in the Rectorate," said Vučić.
Rector Vladan Đokić: By raiding the Rectorate, the government admitted its defeat
Postponed the elections.
When asked about Rector Vladan Đokić's address, Vučić said that his speech was political and that it was against the law, and that he found it strange that at this moment he did not want to say something that was not written.
"I have nothing against him running. No problem. He is a big favorite, as they say they have 75 percent of the people's support, you don't always see that in elections," said Vučić and added that he would decide on his group's candidates later.
