After the elections in Bela Palanka and Babušnica, last weekend local community elections held in Crow and Dimitrovgrad, the Southern News write.
The City Committee of Serbia Center (SRCE) of Vranje claims that there was election theft and announces the filing of a criminal complaint. They say that the preparation for the theft started the evening before the election, when the president, deputy president and members of the electoral commissions were replaced in an emergency procedure.
"Only half an hour before the opening of the polling stations, Tanja Brkić, our committee president at polling station 19 - Sobina, was served with an illegal dismissal decision, took away her election materials and appointed a SNS member in her place," says MP and president of the SRCE City Committee Slobodan Petrović.
He claims that the elections were irregular, that they supported this with numerous evidences and submitted a large number of complaints about "irregularities in the electoral process" and "criminal malpractice", such as inserting filled ballots into ballot boxes.
SNS celebrates victory
While the opposition talks about theft, SNS declares victory, although by law parties are not allowed to participate in elections for local communities, but citizens run by name and surname, Juzne Vesti writes.
As in the case of Babušnica and Bela Palaka, the president of the Executive Board of the Serbian Progressive Party, Darko Glišić, announced that the SNS had won 456 out of a total of 457 seats in the three local governments - Vranje, Vranjska Banja and Dimitrovgrad.
In the elections for local communities in Dimitrovgrad out of a total of 81 mandates, the Serbian Progressive Party won all the mandates. In Vranjska Banja, out of a total of 51 mandates, 51 were won by the Serbian Progressive Party, and out of 325 in Vranje, SNS won 324 - said Glišić.
Low turnout
According to preliminary data, out of a total of 59.995 registered voters in Vranje, 16.593, or 27.17 percent, went to the polls. According to the president of GIK Novica Stanisavljević, the number of valid ballots is 16.303, and invalid 290 - according to the official website of the City of Vranje.
They also say that there are no objections to the voting results, but that they will wait for the deadline to expire.
A higher turnout was recorded in Dimitrovgrad - 35,3 percent, writes the FAR portal.
