While family and friends are burying Aleksandar Nešović Baju who was reported missing on May 13, and who killed in the restaurant "27" in Senjak, they agree or even more split the dice regarding his murder.
Several suspects for complicity in the murder of Nešović, whose body was found in a barrel in the Jarkovačka Lake, testified that the police beat them after they were taken into custody.
One of them - the owner of the restaurant, said that he beat him Marko Kricak, head of the Criminal Police Directorate, Radar reported.
Higher public prosecution in Belgrade (VJT) announced to RTS that it submitted to the competent basic public prosecutor's office the records of the interrogation of four suspects in the investigation into the grave murder of A. N., after they made claims during the interrogation that they were beaten by police officers.
In the response of VJT to RTS, the minutes were forwarded due to the existence of grounds for suspicion of the commission of the criminal offense of abuse and torture.
The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office did not state the validity of the allegations of the suspects, but stated that the case in the part related to allegations of police behavior was submitted to the competent Basic Public Prosecutor's Office for further processing.
What did the suspects say?
In its latest issue, the weekly "Radar" reported details from the statements of those arrested in the "Senjak" case, in which some of them stated, among other things, that they were beaten by police officers.
"Radar" journalist Vuk Cvijić told N1 that the owner of the restaurant in Senjak and the waiter in that establishment claimed that the police beat them.
"They showed the prosecution the injuries they had, some hematomas, injuries on the soles of their feet and other parts of the body, with the fact that the owner of the restaurant identified the man who beat him, that is Marko Kricak, the head of the Criminal Police Directorate," Cvijić said.
He also assessed that it is unclear, and perhaps unusual, that the records do not show that anyone asked the arrested women why the police beat them and what they wanted from them.
"Whether it was because of that statement they gave or they were looking for something else is completely unclear. Or they were beaten for pleasure, which doesn't seem likely," said Cvijić.
Due to various criminal acts, and in connection with the murder of Nešović, whose body was found in a barrel near the Jarkovac lake, and DNA analysis confirmed that it was him, the former head of the Belgrade police, Veselin Milić, and 10 other people were arrested.
VJT is conducting an extensive investigation against 11 people.
